Daily Writer by Rolf Thiel: Diplomat Aero fountain pen

Borrowing from the design ideas of the 1920's, the Aero is a writing instrument that conveys a unique aesthetic, with its sleek lines and streamlined exterior, the AERO is reminiscent of a zeppelin.

With its ergonomic shape, the Diplomat Aero fits perfectly in the hand. Its balanced relationship between weight and size also contribute to this. The choice of color is up to everyone, in my case it fell on orange.

In general, I find that the stainless steel nib suits the fountain pen better than the 14K gold nib and have opted for this in the nib size M (medium). In combination with the document-proof ink from Montblanc, it writes extremely softly.

The fountain pen not only looks robust, but also proves this in practice. Things can sometimes get a bit hectic in everyday business. Sometimes the fountain pen has to survive a fall or two from my desk.

Another detail that gives me great pleasure every time I use it is the "Soft Sliding Click" closing mechanism developed by Diplomat.

The Diplomat company has existed since 1922 and still manufactures all of its writing instruments in Germany. The emphasis is on the highest quality of workmanship.
