Product Description

The art of damascening is handcrafted at the highest level and is thousands of years old. With the “Toledo” fountain pen, Pelikan pays tribute to this technique with a love of detail.

The biggest highlight of this edition is the decorative sleeve. Several elaborate steps are necessary to refine the detailed pelican motif on the barrel. The special pelican motif is refined by hand by a goldsmith with many expressive details, so that the very individual expression givesthe writing instrument its vibrancy. Two pelican motifs can be seen on the surrounding 925 sterling silver sleeve: a small pelican stands together in front of a pelican with widened wings and the second motif shows a pelican with an open beak. Both motifs are framed by ornaments. During the manufacturing process, the design is etched onto the sleeve and then the filigree details are stitched by hand. Finally, the surface of the barrel is coated with palladium.
The fountain pen is fitted with a 18-carat/750 rhodinized gold nib. The Toledo M910 White is available only for a limited time and comes in a high-quality, white piano lacquered Toledo gift box.

The Art of Toledo

Named after the historic Spanish city of Toledo, this collection celebrates a decorative technique that dates back centuries. The heart of every pen is a sleeve made of solid Sterling Silver, which is meticulously hand-engraved by a master goldsmith. Because each tiny feather of the pelican motif is carved individually by hand, no two Toledo pens are ever identical. It is a labor of love and precision that breathes life into the metal, creating a texture you can feel with every touch.

Gold & Craftsmanship

Following the intricate engraving, the silver sleeve is coated with a thick layer of 24-karat gold. This "gold-on-silver" tradition ensures a warm, radiant glow that will last for generations. The pen features Pelikan's signature 18-karat bicolor gold nib, offering a writing experience that is as soft and expressive as the artwork on the barrel. Every detail—from the iconic beak clip to the gold-plated rings—is a testament to German engineering meeting Spanish artistry.

Exclusivity & Heritage

Owning a Pelikan Toledo is an entry into an exclusive circle of connoisseurs. Due to the immense time required for the hand-engraving process (only a few pieces can be created each month), the Toledo is a rare treasure. Each writing instrument is signed by the master engraver, comes with an individual certificate of authenticity, and is presented in a high-quality gift box. It is not just a pen; it is a legacy—a timeless investment in the world’s finest writing culture.
