Inside, an exceptionally soft suede-like lining cushions every pen and reliably protects delicate surfaces from scratches, including the precious urushi lacquer finishes of Namiki writing instruments. A firm, stable core beneath the leather keeps the trays in shape and holds each pen safely separated from its neighbours.
