Souverän® is the classic from Pelikan. The production of the black and red striped upper part is complex, because a striped piece of material is made from cotton material in many steps according to a recipe developed especially for Pelikan, which is bent, polished and then cut to contour with a diamond. The gold-plated rings on the upper and lower parts are fitted with the utmost precision, creating a virtually seamless transition between the materials before the pen is polished to a high shine. The slightly springy typical Pelikan beak clip gives this high-quality writing instrument its unmistakable design.
